Where are the ceremony & reception taking place?

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, PA.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Yes, there is free parking at Bear Creek. Upon arrival, please park in the hotel parking lot and walk through their main doors. There will be signage directing you to our ceremony site, along with Bear Creek staff available to escort you.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Our ceremony starts promptly at 4:00 p.m. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes beforehand to give yourself plenty of time to settle into your seat.

Can I take pictures/video during the ceremony?

We’ve hired an excellent photographer and videographer, so please do not take any photos or videos during the ceremony. While we appreciate that you want to capture this special moment with us, all we need is for you to be present and enjoy the moment. We promise to share everything with you afterward!

Will the ceremony be indoors or outdoors?

Weather-permitting, the ceremony will take place outdoors on a large, paved brick patio. It’s a few short steps outside the resort’s main doors. Bear Creek staff will be there to escort you to and from the ceremony site.

Will the cocktail hour/reception be indoors or outdoors?

The cocktail hour and reception will be inside Bear Creek’s Lodge Ballroom. However, during the reception, you will also have access to an adjoining outdoor deck with gorgeous views of the mountains.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Do you have hotel rooms available?

Yes! We have a wedding block with Bear Creek, which you can reserve by clicking here or going to https://bcmountainresort.com/ and using the code TBD for our discount!

There are limited rooms available, on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please book as soon as possible to ensure you can get a room with our discounted rate!

If you have any issues, please call (610) 682-7100 and mention that you’re trying to book for the Freeman Buckwald Wedding.

There are no more rooms available in your wedding block. What can I do?

In the event that no more rooms are available in our block, there may still be rooms listed at their normal rate. If they’re completely booked, please visit this page for a list of other hotels in the area.

ATTENDANCE

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please return your RSVP card in the pre-stamped envelope no later than September 15, 2023. We would also greatly appreciate it if you mailed it back as soon as possible!

Can I bring my children?

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be adults-only events. Thank you for understanding, and we truly appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time to celebrate this special day with us. We hope you can take this opportunity to relax and have fun!

Can I bring a date?

We have a strict, invitation-only guest list. We’ve indicated on your personal RSVP card how many seats we’ve reserved for you.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Please return your RSVP card even if you can’t attend—we’ll miss you, but this also gives us the chance to plan accordingly!

ATTIRE

What’s the dress code?

Please wear semi-formal attire. We also ask that you refrain from wearing dark teal, our wedding color.

What are your wedding colors?

Our main wedding color is dark teal (as seen throughout this website & on our invitations). Please refrain from wearing this color—we want our wedding party to stand out!

What will the weather be like?

Since our wedding is in late October in Lehigh Valley (a more mountainous part of southeastern Pennsylvania), we can probably expect a high around 60-65°F and a low around 40-45°F.

DINING

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What’s the best way to let you know?

The fastest way to reach us is by sending a message through our Facebook event here. Our entire menu is selected well before the wedding date, so you must let us know in advance! Otherwise, we cannot guarantee you’ll be able to enjoy the food.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! That said, this is a gentle reminder that you should always have a glass of water between each drink—we want you to remember this night, too!

We’re both already so fortunate to have everything we need to embark on married life together! However, after we’re married, we would love to our achieve our next big milestone: leaving apartment life behind and becoming homeowners. In lieu of traditional gifts, we've opted for a house fund registry to help us pay for a future home. If you're able, we would greatly appreciate your generosity in helping us achieve this dream.
